So my parents have a 2001 Passat Variant (with the V6 TDI and FWD). This is one of it's wheel, and it's completely rubbish. And the coating is peeling out... Time to change them for.... some brand new Borbet BS5! (pic after the jump)

I don't want to be a dick, but that is one of my favorite VW wheels.

My Grand Marquis has one bent and badly scuffed up wheel...makes me really want to replace the whole set but I just can't justify it yet.

The wheels currently on ? Because I was wondering if they were genuine VW wheels, they were on it when we bought the car, but I never found which model they were. Do you know? Never seen another VW with the same wheels.

And according to the options codes of the car it left the factory with 17-inch wheels

I'm almost sure they are (I might be completely mistaken and thinking of another wheel) , I don't know the name but I like them because they look like rally wheels.

None, we stuck with 16-inches because we didn't want to pay more for the tires than we already do. And the tires on the car are new so there's that too (they are 205/55R16, if we wanted 17-inches we would have to go for 225/45R17 tires).

So since this post we changed the wheels, and the wheels that were on the car were not VW's but some aftermarket wheels from an unknow manufacturer. I just know that they were made in Italy. They are 7.5" inches wide and have an offset of 35 (original VW wheels are 7" wide and ET37).
